Estonian Music Days 2009

In 2009, the focus of the Estonian Music Days festival is Nordic music, with Athelas Sinfonietta Copenhagen as the main performer. The concerts, performances, meetings and work-shops of the Festival will present a variety of different angles to approach Nordic music. Along the Nordic focus all the festival concerts will include pieces by acknowledged contemporary Nordic composers such as Karin Rehnqvist, Rolf Wallin, Poul Ruders as well as premieres by Estonian composers. In addition, lectures about Nordic music will take place in Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre. Estonian Music Days - a festival presenting Estonian music has been held since 1979 and is organized by Estonian Composers' Union. The artistic directors are Timo Steiner and Ülo Krigul. In 2009, the Estonian Music Days will take place between April 16th to 23rd in Tallinn, Estonia.
